Questions
How do I write spaces in Morse code?
Put one space between letters and a slash (/) between words, e.g. ".... .. / - .... . .-. ." is HI THERE. Three or more spaces also work as a word break here.
What is SOS in Morse code?
... --- ... (three dots, three dashes, three dots), sent as one continuous signal. It was adopted internationally in 1906 because it is easy to send and recognise.
Does Morse code have lowercase letters?
No. Morse has one form per letter, so decoded text is shown in capitals. Accented letters are sent as their plain letter here.
How fast is Morse code sent?
Speed is measured in words per minute using the standard word PARIS. Licensed amateurs often copy 15 to 25 wpm; the player here uses the ITU timing: a dash is three dots long, letters are three dots apart and words seven.
